CERT Training at Covina UMC

The County of Los Angeles Fire Department is proud to present this training to the public.
 
Following a major disaster, police, fire and medical professionals may not be able to fully meet the demand. People will have to rely on each other to meet the immediate life saving and life sustaining needs, particularly in isolated neighborhoods that may be cut off from the main roads for a period of time.
 
The County of Los Angeles Fire Department’s Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) program was developed to provide basic training in safety and life saving skills for the general public.   
 
The course curriculum covers the following modules:
September 10
 
September 24
 
October 1
 
October 8
       1. Disaster
       Preparedness
2. Terrorism Awareness & Disaster Psychology
3. Team Organization & Light Search & Rescue
4. Fire Suppression
October 15
October 22
October 29
 
 
5. Disaster Medical PART 1
6. Disaster Medical PART 2
7. Review, Drill, and Graduation
 
 
 
The training course will be presented as a series of *seven (7) classes.  Scheduled class dates are:
 
Tuesday nights, September 10 & 24, October 1, 8, 15, 22 & 29, 2013
6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
